Joe's all-too-rare contributions are a lifeboat in a sea of juvenile delinquents and nitwits.

Here, Tod misses completely Joe's generous offer of help, and naturally sees only an affront to his technical wizardry, which must be defended vigorously.
And taking a swipe right back at Joe while doing so, is only fair play.
